HALEAKALA VOLCANO GALLERY, MAUI, HAWAII
Haleakala Facts:
Haleakala rises 10023 feet above sea level.
18000 feet of the mountain is underwater
giving it a total of 28000 feet above the
ocean floor. It last erupted in 1790 and
it is certain to erupt again in the near
future. The eruption occured on the southwest
rift zone of the mountain. The "crater"
was formed from eons of erosion not by collapse.
So enjoy Haleakala.
